Closing Our Doors

VANCOUVER (Nov. 5, 2015) – The Archdiocese of Vancouver regrets to announce that, despite its best efforts to provide retreat facilities at a reasonable cost, Rosemary Heights Retreat Centre will wind down operations at the end of this year.

Rosemary Heights has been offering retreats, meeting spaces and accommodations since 1992, and the staff and leadership, most recently under Mari Lalana, have worked diligently over the years to provide services for the Archdiocese of Vancouver.

Unfortunately, a number of factors worked against Rosemary Heights. Most critical was a decline in those seeking its services. Despite efforts to attract sufficient Catholic users, it was unable to do so, leaving the Centre in a financially untenable situation.

The Archdiocese hopes to realize the best value possible for the Rosemary Heights property. It remains committed to providing a retreat centre and is looking at affordable alternatives. An announcement will be made as soon as any development is finalized.

The Archdiocese offers its sincere thanks to the staff and leadership at Rosemary Heights. Their professionalism and dedicated service were exemplary, and we trust that the good Lord will accompany them at this difficult time.
